Tamariki Tournament

Māori Touch NZ is excited to confirm the launch of our Tamariki Tournament in 2025!

This two-day event is strictly for our tamariki with grades including Under 10s, Under 12s & Under 14s Boys, Girls & Mixed. Like our National Tournament, players must whakapapa Māori and represent hapū, rohe, iwi and/or takiwā.

It is the first time Maori Touch NZ has presented an event for tamariki - though we acknowledge Te Matau a Maui, who worked hard in this space for years pre-covid.

MTNZ Chairperson Finney Davis is confident the launch of this kaupapa will strengthen Maori Touch moving forward; “This event is a platform for our tamariki and mokopuna. For 25 years, we have provided rangatahi and adults a platform to play - now it’s time for our kids to show us how it’s done!”

Event Date & Venue: Sat 15 February & Sun 16 February, 2025 at Swarbrick Park, Hamilton.

Age Criteria: players must be under age of grade as at 31 December 2024

• U10 as at 31 Dec 2024 / Born 2015 or later
• U12 as at 31 Dec 2024 / Born 2013 or later
• U14 as at 31 Dec 2024 / Born 2011 or later
• U16 as at 31 Dec 2024 / Born 2009 or later
