Carol Ngawati appointed Kairangi for Māori Touch NZ

28 Oct

We are proud to share news that in August, Carol Ngawati was appointed Kairangi for Māori Touch NZ & presented with Life Membership. Carol co-founded Māori Touch NZ, as well as Waitakere Māori Touch and has been instrumental in guiding our kaupapa since its inception.

In 2018 Carol was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to sport, education and Māori. The Kairangi (Patron) role is a testament to Carol’s life long service & commitment to our people, and our sport - and was a fitting way of acknowledging her continued involvement in advocating for Māori Touch NZ alongside other Māori sporting organisations with Government & Sport NZ.We’re very lucky to have Carol step into this role and continue to support ongoing efforts for Māori Touch in Aotearoa.

He taonga rongonui te aroha ki te tangata!
